Level 10 Friday: When Standing Down Is the Best Trade You’ll Make All Week

Posted: Friday June 12, 2026

☀️ AM BRIEFING

This is not a standard Friday MES micro futures trade plan session — it is a stand-down session. With the SpaceX IPO, an unresolved Iran situation, and classic Friday sentiment and expectations dynamics all stacking at once, George called it Level 10 trading conditions and published zero Battle Plans the night before. The message is clear: sometimes the best ES futures daily trade setup is no setup at all. The session also delivered the most powerful lotto runner reminder of the year — a perfect BP2 entry that lost its add-on to a tight stop, leaving a 100-pointer on the table when the Trump-Iran candle fired. And before the close, George previewed a brand-new Chrome journaling extension coming to the room — a full pre-flight checklist, journal dashboard, and trade analyzer, all living locally on your machine.

Level 10 Friday — Bulls Control, Dom Stays Closed

Three separate market-moving variables are in play at the same time. The SpaceX IPO is drawing capital and attention across risk assets. The Iran peace deal remains unresolved — one headline drop can vaporize a setup instantly. And Friday rules mean sentiment and expectations are the dominant force, not clean technical structure. George’s call: Level 10 trading conditions, DOM probably doesn’t open, zero Battle Plans mapped.

  • Friday Rules: Fridays carry heightened volatility from options activity, end-of-week positioning, and headline-driven moves — structure is messier and reversals are faster than mid-week sessions.
  • SpaceX IPO: A high-profile IPO of this magnitude pulls liquidity and attention across the broader risk complex — ES futures included. Unpredictable flows are part of the session.
  • Iran Uncertainty: Unresolved geopolitical headline risk creates binary move potential. You can be in a perfectly-structured long and have it vaporized by a single news line.
  • Bulls Control: The trend has been clear all week. George’s direct words: “If you find you keep shorting this, you might want to have a little talk to yourself.” Shorts are counter. Small, if at all.
“I published zero Battle Plans last night… because I think we are at a point here where we should not be trading. We’re going to trade the price action live as it happens.”

Trader Lesson 1

When Level 10 conditions stack — major IPO, live geopolitical risk, and Friday rules all in the same session — the correct position size is often zero. Standing down is a trade. Protecting your capital on a day like this is as important as capturing any move.

Next Week — The Most Dangerous Economic Calendar on the Board

George’s advice for next week was direct: if you wanted to take the family on vacation, this is a beautiful week to do it. Four days of elevated volatility land back to back — any one of these would qualify as a stand-down candidate by itself. Together, they form one of the highest-risk weeks on the futures trading calendar.

DayEventWhat It Means
Monday / TuesdayContract RolloverQuarterly transition from the June contract to September. Volume and spreads shift — know which contract you’re trading at all times.
WednesdayFOMC DecisionFederal Reserve rate decision. One of the highest-volatility events on the calendar. Pre-FOMC sessions often coil tight — then break hard after the announcement.
ThursdayDay After FOMCOften the second most volatile FOMC day as the market digests the Fed’s language and adjusts positioning. Follow-through or violent reversal — both are common.
FridayOPEXOptions Expiration. Pinning near key strikes, gamma-driven acceleration, and erratic behavior near the close. Quad-witch dynamics apply.
“If you wanted to take a vacation, take the fam out of town — this is a beautiful week to do that. Absolutely gorgeous week to do that.”

Trader Lesson 2

Before the week begins, pull up the economic calendar. When FOMC, contract rollover, and OPEX land in the same week, you need a plan for each day — or a plan to step back entirely. Forced trades on high-volatility event days are some of the most expensive mistakes a futures trader can make.

The Lotto Runner — 100 Points You Can Never Get Back

George entered Battle Plan 2️⃣ at exactly the right level. One contract. He added on. The add-on’s stop triggered early, pulling him out of the trade before the move came. Then the Trump-Iran headline candle fired — and he watched a potential 100-pointer go by from the sidelines. This is the lotto runner lesson, and it keeps repeating because it keeps costing.

  • Entry: BP2 level — the right place, the right read.
  • Add-on: Triggered into the trade, then stopped out quickly — got him out of the position entirely.
  • The mistake: Stop moved to break even (or slightly negative) instead of holding with room. Taken out on noise before the big move.
  • The result: The Trump-Iran candle fired — another 100+ point run. Flat for all of it.
  • The week context: Despite missing this one, it was one of the biggest weeks in a long time — multiple 50-pointers, clean executions. But it still stings.

The three-contract system is designed for exactly this. Contract 1 covers your cost. Contract 2 books a target. Contract 3 — the lotto runner — stays on until the move proves it is done. One runner surviving a major news catalyst can pay more than three full setups combined. That is the power George keeps reinforcing.

“Keep that lotto freaking runner. And I have to keep telling myself that so you have to hear it also.”

Trader Lesson 3

The three-contract system works when you let Contract 3 run. Moving your stop to break even too early is the most common way to kill a lotto runner. If you take a lotto runner, give it room — or don’t take it at all. One surviving runner on a catalyst day can dwarf everything else you captured that week.

Battle Plan vs. Full Membership — Which One Is Right for You?

George was asked directly via private message: “I traded options for three years. I’m new to futures. Should I join the Battle Plan or become a Full Member?” The answer is straightforward — and it matters, because starting at the wrong level costs time and money.

  • The Battle Plan is for traders who already have their own entry system and trade management framework. It adds George’s pre-mapped levels, high-probability setups, and session bias as a layer on top of what you already do — like bolting a professional trade team’s daily plan onto your own process. The Battle Plan does not teach you how to enter or manage a trade.
  • Full Membership is the complete system. It covers the full entry methodology, the three-contract system, position sizing, chart evaluations with personal feedback, live room access, and the entire training sequence. For new futures traders — this is where you start.
  • Jackie’s journey: He came in as a brand-new futures trader three or four years ago. Now he is a capable, self-sufficient trader. “I can’t say enough. This group’s an absolute gym. Once you’ve tried it, you don’t need to try anything else.” The system works — but you have to start at the right level.
  • The seven-day free trial: The Battle Plan has a free trial. Use it. Read it, absorb it for seven days, and see what level this group operates at. If you don’t yet have your own system, you’ll know immediately that Full Membership is the right next step.

Trader Lesson 4

If you don’t yet have your own entry system and trade management framework, start with Full Membership — not the Battle Plan. The Battle Plan is a complement to a working system, not a replacement for one. Joining at the wrong level is one of the most expensive mistakes a new futures trader makes.

On training pace — Dion submitted his first three charts quickly and George flagged something important: his vision on the levels is strong, but his eyes are starting to play games on him. That is the sign of going too fast. Most members watch the training videos three to five times. When the material starts inverting on you — triangles getting backwards, levels getting confused — that is not a comprehension problem. That is a pacing problem. Slow down, redo the training, and submit end-of-day charts every day for a month before advancing.

Trader Lesson 5

When the material starts playing games on you — levels inverting, shapes getting confused — that is a sign you are going too fast, not that you lack ability. Slow down. Redo the training. Give yourself time to calibrate before submitting charts. The training is not a one-pass process.

New Chrome Extension — Journal, Annotate, Analyze on Your Machine

George previewed a new Chrome extension coming to the trading room — a full journaling, chart annotation, and trade analysis environment that runs entirely on your local machine. No subscriptions, no uploads, no one else has access to your data. It is ChartBuddy-level functionality for traders who use Chrome and do not need the full automation suite.

  • Chart Annotation: A floating overlay that sits on top of TradingView. Doodles, trade icons, scoreboards, and text notes — all positioned over your chart for end-of-day screenshots and group posts. The overlay is fixed to the screen, not the chart, so you set your chart position first and then annotate.
  • Journal Mode: A persistent journal window with customizable pre-flight checklists and entry criteria checklists. Forexfactory.com loads directly from the checklist. Everything saves to an HTML file on your computer.
  • Journal Dashboard: P&L by day, win rate, discipline score (consecutive A and B discipline days), 12-day cumulative P&L, calendar view, and full filter capabilities — by day of week, tag, discipline rating, or custom events like FOMC, OPEX, or non-farm payroll.
  • Trade Analyzer: Upload CSV exports from Tradovate, Ninja Online, or Ninja Desktop for detailed performance breakdowns.
  • AI Coach: Download your full journal and use George’s provided prompts to run a deep AI analysis of your trading patterns and behavioral tendencies.
  • Transformation Tracker: Optional personal goal tracking — because trading requires the best version of you. Health, habits, whatever you’re working on.
All of this lives on your machine. Whatever you enter here is on your computer. No one has access to it. It is just for you.

Trader Lesson 6

Pre-flight checklists prevent your worst trades. Build one that forces you to confirm: Did I read the Battle Plan? Did I read the AM Briefing? Is this a news day? Is this a planned Battle Plan trade? The Chrome extension puts that checklist directly in your face before you place an order — remove the friction between intention and execution.

“Keep that lotto freaking runner. And I have to keep telling myself that so you have to hear it also.”

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS

What is a “Level 10” trading day and why does it matter?

A: A Level 10 trading day is George’s highest-volatility classification — a session where multiple unpredictable variables stack at the same time, making clean pre-planned setups nearly impossible to execute safely. On a Level 10 day, headline risk, options-driven flows, and erratic price action combine to create conditions where the best move for most traders is to stand down entirely. Forcing trades on Level 10 days is one of the fastest ways to give back a good week.

What does “contract rollover” mean and how does it affect ES futures trading?

A: Contract rollover is the quarterly transition between futures contract months — in this case, from the June ES/MES contract to the September contract. As rollover approaches, volume and open interest shift from the expiring contract to the new one. Traders need to confirm which contract their platform is charting and executing on, because spreads can widen and volume can thin on the old contract. Missing the rollover and trading the wrong month is a surprisingly common and costly mistake.

What is the three-contract system and how does the lotto runner fit into it?

A: The three-contract system is Micros Trader’s core position sizing framework. You enter with three contracts at the same level. Contract 1 exits at a short-term target to cover costs. Contract 2 exits at a planned profit target to lock in gains. Contract 3 — the lotto runner — stays on as long as the trend continues, with a wide stop that allows it to survive normal pullbacks and news-driven volatility spikes. The lotto runner is where the big weekly points come from. Today’s session illustrated what happens when the runner is not held: George missed a 100-point move on the Trump-Iran candle because his stop was moved to break even too soon.

What is the difference between the Battle Plan and Full Membership?

A: The Battle Plan is a daily trade plan featuring pre-mapped key levels, high-probability setups, and session bias for ES/MES futures traders. It is designed for traders who already have their own entry methodology and trade management system — it adds George’s professional analysis as a layer on top of your existing process. Full Membership is the complete system: entry methodology, the three-contract system, position sizing, trade evaluations with personal feedback from George, and live trading room access. New futures traders should start with Full Membership. The Battle Plan has a seven-day free trial.

What are “Friday rules” in ES futures trading?

A: Friday rules refer to the unique behavioral characteristics of Friday trading sessions — elevated sensitivity to sentiment and expectations, end-of-week positioning adjustments, accelerated options decay and gamma activity, and an overall tendency toward unpredictable intraday reversals. Technical levels that held all week can be violated quickly on Fridays, and news headlines carry disproportionate weight. Many experienced futures traders reduce size significantly on Fridays, and on high-volatility Fridays like today — where multiple additional catalysts are in play — standing down entirely is a legitimate and professional choice.

What does “Bulls control. Shorts are counter. Small, if at all.” mean?

A: This is one of Micros Trader’s core bias statements. “Bulls control” means the prevailing trend and price structure favor the long side — buyers are in command of the market. “Shorts are counter” means short trades go against the dominant trend and carry higher failure rates. “Small, if at all” is the risk instruction: if you choose to take a counter-trend short despite the bias, you size down significantly to limit exposure. Applying this rule consistently keeps traders on the right side of price action and out of the most dangerous counter-trend trades.

Why does FOMC week warrant extra caution for futures traders?

A: The FOMC meeting is a Federal Reserve rate decision — one of the highest-impact scheduled events on the economic calendar. Pre-FOMC sessions often see compressed, choppy price action as traders wait on the decision. The announcement itself can produce violent 30-to-100-point swings in ES futures within seconds. The day after FOMC is frequently the second most volatile day, as the market digests the Fed’s language and adjusts positioning. When FOMC lands alongside contract rollover and OPEX in the same week — as it does next week — the combined volatility risk is exceptional.

What is a pre-flight checklist and why should every futures trader use one?

A: A pre-flight checklist is a set of questions you answer before placing any trade — not after. A typical checklist asks: Did I read today’s Battle Plan? Did I read the AM Briefing? Did I check the economic calendar on Forexfactory.com? Is this a news day? Is this a pre-planned Battle Plan trade or am I chasing? Am I within my leverage matrix? The purpose is to eliminate impulsive, unplanned trades by forcing a moment of deliberate review before execution. Your worst trades almost never pass a well-built pre-flight checklist. The new Chrome extension puts this checklist directly on your screen during trading hours.
