MES MICROS TRADE PLAN
Posted: Wednesday February 25, 2026
Yesterday’s session had a 100-point move written all over it… and we missed it by three points. The Battle Plan mapped the trampoline zone perfectly. Price dipped in, bounced hard, and ran. That stings a little. But here’s the thing — we were looking for the RIGHT trade in the RIGHT location. That’s the whole game. Now price is back up at a resistance zone that has rejected four separate times. Bulls are in control… but this is NOT the place to be guessing. Nvidia reports after the close tonight. Big candles are possible. Stay disciplined. Stay patient. Trade what develops.
📖 Opening Devotional
We opened with Psalm 118… “You are my God, I will praise you. You are my God and I will exalt you. Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever.”
That’s the foundation. Before the charts, before the levels, before any of it. Gratitude first.
And this week’s journaling prompt over at Trader Meditations hits close to home for a lot of us:
Sit with that one. It’s a good question.
📅 Calendar & The Nvidia Wildcard
Wednesday is light on news drivers. Here’s what matters the rest of the week:
| Date | Event | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Wednesday (tonight) | Nvidia Earnings (After Hours) | Major wildcard — large candles likely after the close |
| Thursday | Unemployment Claims | Watch for volatility around the release |
| Friday | PPI + Friday Rules | Friday rules are in effect — trade accordingly |
🎯 Yesterday’s Miss — And Why It Still Matters
The Battle Plan mapped the trampoline zone. Price came down into that zone… and trampolined. A 100-point runner was on the table for anyone who got the fill.
We missed the entry by three points.
Three. Points.
That’s trading. Price doesn’t always go exactly to your mapping. Sometimes it misses by a hair and goes without you. Oh well. Next.
But here’s what actually matters — we were NOT looking to short into bull momentum. The Battle Plan said it clearly: don’t short this, don’t short this, don’t drive angry, don’t short this. And then price delivered a beautiful move up. Being on the right side of that… even if the fill didn’t come… that’s the discipline this whole group is built around.
📊 Macro Structure — Where We Stand
The big picture is still constructive. Price is above the 100-day value area low, above the bull-bear line, and above the 2026 opening price. That’s a clean macro setup.
But here’s the problem… we’re walking right back into a resistance zone that has rejected price four separate times. First test — rejection. Second test — rejection. Third test (live on stream) — rejection. And now we’re back at it again.
- Small Range Inside a Bigger Range: Everything is fractal. There are ranges inside of ranges, levels inside of levels. This inner range overhead is the key zone to watch today.
- Four Rejections at the Same Zone: Respect that. It doesn’t mean it can’t break… it means you don’t chase it blindly.
- Bulls Are in Control: Upward-slanting VWAPs, price laddering above previous day highs, coming into last week’s high. This is bull momentum. Do NOT be calling tops.
🗺️ Today’s Setups — What We’re Looking For
Two scenarios are on the table today. Here’s how to think about them:
- Speculator Special (Preferred): A pullback-and-ladder entry that would confirm continued bull strength. If price dips and reclaims, that’s the cleanest setup. This is the preferred play… because it shows the bulls are still in charge without requiring a chase.
- The 40-Point Reclaim Setup: If we open, reclaim the strong level, and it holds… that’s roughly a 40-point move to the opposite side of the range. Clean entry. Clean target. But it has to develop — don’t force it.
Three 15-point candles back-to-back yesterday tells you one thing — HIGH RISK if you’re chasing. You can NOT jump on that train after it’s already moving. Wait for YOUR entry on YOUR terms.
🧠 Don’t Call Tops. Don’t Chase Candles.
This is the mindset section. And it’s short on purpose.
When bulls control… they control. Upward-slanting VWAPs. Laddering above prior highs. Coming into last week’s high. Every index up, up, and away.
This is NOT the environment to be guessing at a top.
Do NOT call tops. Do NOT call tops. Do NOT call tops.
And those 23-point candles… those 15-point candles back-to-back… you can’t chase those. If you jump on the train there, it reverses in your face. That’s just the nature of the beast. Stick to the plan. If price delivers an entry — take it. If it doesn’t — you’re out. Simple.
“Looking for the right trade in the right location… that’s the whole game. If you can do that consistently, the odds are in your corner.”
COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
What is the Trampoline Zone and why does it matter?
A: The Trampoline Zone is a specific price area identified in the Battle Plan where the market is expected to dip, find support, and bounce sharply higher. It’s not a guess — it’s a mapped location based on technical confluence. Yesterday, price came down into the Trampoline Zone and delivered a 100-point move up. The entry missed by three points, but the concept worked exactly as mapped. When price “trampolines” out of this zone, it can produce some of the biggest moves of the session.
What does “don’t drive angry” mean in trading context?
A: “Don’t drive angry” is a reminder not to trade from a place of frustration, revenge, or emotional reactivity. In yesterday’s session, the Battle Plan repeatedly warned traders not to short into bull momentum — even when it felt tempting. Trading angry means forcing setups that aren’t there, chasing candles that have already moved, or fading a trend because you missed the original entry. The discipline is to wait… and let price come to you.
What is the Speculator Special setup?
A: The Speculator Special is a pullback-and-ladder entry strategy. Instead of buying at the top of a move into resistance, you wait for price to pull back, find support, and then ladder back up. This is the preferred setup today because it confirms continued bull strength without requiring a chase. It’s lower risk than initiating at resistance and shows the bulls are still in control of the trend.
What is the 40-Point Reclaim Setup?
A: The 40-Point Reclaim Setup triggers when price opens, reclaims a key strong level overhead, and holds. If that happens, the mapped target is roughly 40 points to the opposite side of the current range. It requires patience — the level has to be reclaimed cleanly, not just touched. Don’t force it. If it develops, it’s a high-conviction trade with a clear target. If it doesn’t develop, there’s nothing to do.
Why is chasing 15-point and 23-point candles so dangerous?
A: Monster candles represent explosive momentum that has already been released. When you chase a 15 or 23-point candle, you’re entering at the worst possible risk/reward — right as the move is exhausted and most likely to reverse. Yesterday’s session had three consecutive 15-point candles followed by a sharp reversal. Jumping on that train mid-candle is how stops get vaporized. The correct response is to wait for the next clean setup on your terms… not to chase what just happened.
Why shouldn’t traders call tops in a bull trend?
A: Fading a strong uptrend is a low-probability trade. When upward-slanting VWAPs are in place, price is laddering above prior highs, and all four major futures indexes are pointing up — the market is telling you who’s in control. Shorting into that environment because “it’s gone too far” is a losing strategy. Tops form when they form. Until the structure breaks, the path of least resistance is up… and calling tops before the structure changes is guessing, not trading.
What are Friday Rules and why are they in effect this week?
A: Friday Rules are a set of session-specific trading guidelines applied every Friday to account for lower liquidity, end-of-week position squaring, and increased erratic price behavior. Because Fridays have a different risk profile than mid-week sessions, the rules adjust trade sizing, entry criteria, and session length accordingly. This Friday also has PPI data releasing, which adds an additional volatility catalyst. Friday Rules help traders avoid getting caught in low-quality, high-risk conditions at the end of the trading week.
What is a “paid-for lottery ticket” (lotto runner)?
A: A lotto runner — or “paid-for lottery ticket” — is a partial position held after a trade has already reached its initial profit target. Once you’ve secured profit on the primary portion of the trade, the remaining runner costs you nothing. It’s free to hold. Yesterday’s ideal scenario would have been holding a lotto runner from the Trampoline Zone and adding to it on the reclaim of the strong level above — essentially a no-risk position with 100-point upside potential.
