MES MICROS TRADE PLAN
Three Battle Plans, a New All-Time High, and the Power of Holding Your Runner
Posted: Wednesday May 6, 2026
Wednesday’s ES futures morning briefing followed one of the best overnight Battle Plan performances of the year — three trades activated, BP2 delivered a 60-plus point move, and Andrew’s Monday BP1 long runner had grown to 150+ points by session open. By mid-morning, ES went on to make a new all-time high during RTH, with George describing the parabolic price action as “Tulip Mania” territory. The session delivered two essential lessons that apply whether you’re managing a winner or sitting on your hands: why holding your MES micro futures runner is one of the most powerful tools available to you, and why protecting your system from shiny objects is just as important as finding a good entry in the first place.
Battle Plan Recap: Three Trades, All Overnight
Three Battle Plan trades activated while most traders in the United States were sound asleep. It has been the story of the week — and the season. The good news: the mappings were there, the levels were right, and members who were awake or international cleaned up. The question is never whether you were in the trade. The question is: when you were in it, were you a professional trader?
- Battle Plan 3 — Break-Even After Iranian News: Got a seven-point move, then an Iranian news event created a rare 20-point maintenance-period candle. Follow-through stopped. A small green or break-even result. The key was getting out before it became a loss. That’s the job.
- Battle Plan 2 — 60-Plus Point Overnight Winner: Price came back to the strong level and launched to the next strong level in the expected range. With the ES futures three-contract system, members who held had a 60-67 point move. News went in their favor. Gorgeous execution.
- Battle Plan 1 — Expected Range Short: George was short from the apex of the move. Those who took it at the expected range short location did well. One and out is good. Follow at 50%, get what you get, and don’t throw a fit. If you followed it perfectly and it didn’t run all the way — no harm, no foul.
Trader Lesson 1
The wise man does not fear a small cut. He knows he will heal and it will make him stronger. It is the large wound that ends the journey. Embrace the small losses. Protect your path. Taking a well-defined trade is never the mistake — letting it become a large loss is.
The Multi-Day Runner: From 50 Points to 150
Andrew couldn’t sleep Monday night. He pulled up the chart, saw Battle Plan 1 activating, took the long, and held his runner. By Wednesday morning, that single trade was up 150-plus points. This is the power of how to manage a runner in futures — not just the entry, but the patient hold across multiple sessions when you’re on the right side of price action.
- The Setup: Monday night’s BP1 long activated overnight. Most members were asleep. Andrew was not. He entered, followed the three-contract system, peeled partials, and held the lotto runner.
- Adding at BP2: Imagine holding that BP1 runner and then adding at Tuesday night’s BP2 long. Up 150 from Monday plus another 95 from BP2 — on a position where you had already secured profits. That is adding to a winning trade with zero additional risk.
- The 40-60 Point Pullback Rule: George’s key insight from the session — when bulls control, a 40-60 point down move is often THE pullback. When he saw that move Monday, his first instinct was: is that already the down move? It was. The strong level held and price launched north. Identifying THE pullback early is one of the highest-value reads available in a bull market.
- Never Counter a Parabolic Move: Once ES was in a parabolic move to the north, shorting was a dangerous game. Longs who stayed long and held runners reaped the reward. Those who kept shorting kept getting squeezed.
Trader Lesson 2
You could be right… and really right. When you’re on the right side of price action, the lotto runner is not a gamble — it’s a gift you gave yourself by managing your partials correctly. Hold it. Let price do what it’s going to do. Close your DOM and walk away.
Trader Lesson 3
When bulls control, a 40-60 point pullback is often THE pullback. When you see a down move of that size in a bull environment, your first question should be: is this the retracement I’ve been waiting for? If price holds a strong level and reclaims — that’s your signal. Don’t wait for perfection. Wait for confirmation.
ES Makes a New All-Time High: Tulip Mania Territory
By mid-morning, ES printed a new all-time high during RTH — something it hadn’t led in a long time. NQ, Russell, and Dow had been doing the heavy lifting, but Wednesday belonged to ES. George called it what it felt like: Tulip Mania. Not a prediction — a gut check. When the market moves beyond all logic, the right move is to respect it, not fight it.
- There Are No Sellers: Every push down during RTH was absorbed instantly — eight-point candles bought right back up. VPOCs were being left in the wake. A string of single prints above. This is a very strong directional move to the north, and nothing about the price action suggested sellers were gaining control.
- ES Leads the Way: For the first time in a while, ES led rather than trailed. NQ, Dow, and Russell were all participating. When all four indices get on the same train, the moves get stronger.
- The Fair Value Gap Short at 7355: The one counter-trade opportunity came when price filled a 30-minute fair value gap near 7355. George flagged it in real time — short there, small stop, peel contracts, move to break even. It gave a brief move south before buyers stepped back in. See money, take money.
- George’s Rule at All-Time Highs: Trading at all-time highs is George’s least favorite place to trade. He does it — but he maps it like normal price action, keeps stops tight, and doesn’t chase. “I can’t take this long here if I’m not up for it.” Knowing when you’re not ready to trade is just as important as knowing when you are.
Trader Lesson 4
When the market moves beyond all logic, don’t fight it — respect it. Tulip Mania ended eventually, and so will every parabolic move. Your job is not to call the top. Your job is to wait for your Battle Plan levels, trade what’s in front of you, and never make things worse.
Shiny Object Discipline: Protect Your Win Rate
One of the session’s most important conversations came from a simple question about whether additional indicators or patterns should be added to the system. George’s answer was direct and worth internalizing. Futures trading psychology isn’t just about emotions — it’s about protecting your system from everything that doesn’t belong in it.
- The Rule: If it doesn’t improve your win rate, it doesn’t go on the chart. Period. George is deliberate about what he allows himself — and the group — to watch. If something hasn’t proven to add edge, it costs you mental energy for nothing in return.
- Why Shiny Objects Are Dangerous: George has watched it happen over and over — a trader finds a new pattern, chases it down a rabbit hole for two months, and comes back saying “I need to return to basics.” The shiny object didn’t help. It confused. It gave a reason to enter a trade from outside the system.
- The Real Missing Ingredient: Patience. Not a new indicator, not a new pattern, not a new strategy. The real edge is waiting for price to come to Battle Plan trade locations. When you’re in the right location with a small, defined stop, the odds shift dramatically in your favor. That’s the whole system.
- Jake’s Transformation: A community member shared how their trading completely changed after joining the group. No level, no trade — period. Make price come to you. No prediction trading. George invited Jake to share his story on the website. That kind of transformation is what the community is built on.
Trader Lesson 5
Stop overtrading futures by protecting your system from complexity. If a tool, pattern, or indicator hasn’t proven to improve your win rate, remove it from your radar. The real missing ingredient for most traders is not a new tool — it’s the patience to wait for price to come to them.
NFP Week: Elevated Risk Ahead + Membership Update
Two important housekeeping items from Wednesday’s session — one about the calendar, one about the community structure. Both have direct impact on how you approach the rest of the week.
| Day | Event | What to Do |
|---|---|---|
| Thursday May 7 | Day Before Non-Farm Payroll | Elevated risk. Check your trade plan’s rules for this day. Mark it in ChartBuddy. |
| Friday May 8 | Non-Farm Payroll | Major market-moving event. Be sized appropriately. Know your plan before the number drops. |
ChartBuddy Tip: Mark both days using the special day stickers in ChartBuddy. Over time, you build a library of NFP days and pre-NFP days to reference. The data is only valuable if you record it. George is planning a full ChartBuddy documentation video this weekend — a complete A-to-Z walkthrough of the latest version.
“The wise man does not fear a small cut. He knows he will heal and it will make him stronger. It is the large wound that ends the journey. Embrace the small losses. Protect your path.”
COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
What does it mean to hold a “multi-day runner” in futures trading?
A: A multi-day runner is a lotto runner position held across more than one trading session. After taking partials at your targets and moving your stop to break-even (or a negative position), you allow the final contract to run for as long as price continues in your favor — overnight, or even multiple days. Andrew’s Monday BP1 long grew to 150-plus points by Wednesday morning using this approach. It requires an account that can hold overnight risk, and careful stop management.
What is the 40-60 point pullback rule when bulls control?
A: When the dominant trend is bullish, a 40-60 point down move in ES is often THE pullback — meaning price has found its retracement point and is ready to resume higher. When George sees a down move of that size in a bull market, his first thought is: “Is that already the down move?” If a strong level holds and price reclaims, that’s confirmation to look for a long entry. It’s not a guarantee — but it’s a high-probability framework for identifying resumption entries in uptrending conditions.
What is the “see money, take money” rule and when does it apply?
A: “See money, take money” means: when a counter-trend trade gives you a quick profit, take it. Don’t hold a counter-trend trade the same way you’d hold a with-trend trade. When bulls control and you’re short, your lotto runner is a bonus — not a plan. Take your partials when they’re there, move your stop, and if it reverses, you got what you got. No sense in giving back a profit waiting for a bigger move that may never come.
What is a “shiny object” and why does George warn against them?
A: A shiny object is any indicator, pattern, or method outside the core strategy that promises to add edge. George’s rule: if it hasn’t proven to improve your win rate, it doesn’t go on the chart. The danger is that shiny objects give you more reasons to enter trades — not better reasons. They send traders down rabbit holes that lead away from the core discipline of waiting for Battle Plan trade locations. Two months later, most traders come back to basics having lost time and money chasing the thing that was supposed to help.
What is a VPOC and why is “leaving VPOCs in the wake” significant?
A: VPOC stands for Volume Point of Control — the price level within a session that traded the most volume. When price moves so strongly that it doesn’t revisit a prior VPOC during that session, it becomes a “virgin” VPOC. Leaving a string of VPOCs in the wake signals an exceptionally strong directional move — sellers have been so overwhelmed that price never returned to re-test high-volume areas. In Wednesday’s session, this was another sign of the parabolic bull move in progress.
How does George use ChartBuddy to track NFP and high-risk days?
A: ChartBuddy includes special day stickers that can be applied to your TradingView chart to mark high-risk sessions — like the day before Non-Farm Payroll (Thursday) and NFP itself (Friday). Over time, these marked days build a personal database you can reference. You can look back at every NFP day and pre-NFP day in your journal, compare price action, and develop a clearer sense of how these events affect your trading. The data is only useful if you record it — mark it every time.
What happened to silver membership at MicrosTrader?
A: George announced that silver membership — which gave access to the Battle Plan and Zoom — has been removed as a new sign-up option. The issue: silver members were on Zoom during sessions where Full membership tools (Core Strategy, advanced indicators) were discussed, and George didn’t like showing things people didn’t have access to. Going forward, there are two tiers: Battle Plan membership (Battle Plan, basic indicators, Battle Plan Buddy) and Full membership (everything). Existing silver members keep their membership as long as it stays active.
What is a fair value gap and how was it used as a short entry on Wednesday?
A: A fair value gap (FVG) is an imbalance zone created when price moves so quickly between two candles that no volume was transacted at those prices. Price has a tendency to return to fill these gaps. On Wednesday, a 30-minute fair value gap existed near 7355. George flagged it in real time — if price came up to fill it, that was a logical short entry with a small, identifiable stop. Price filled the gap, gave a brief move south, then buyers stepped back in. A clean, counter-trend scalp in a bull market.
What does “see money, take money” look like with the three-contract system?
A: With the ES futures three-contract system on a counter-trend trade, you’re already taking partials early. Peel the first contract at your initial target. Peel the second at the next level. Move the third to break-even or the negative position. If price reverses before the big move, you still walk away with something — and you never turned a winner into a loser. “See money, take money” is especially important when counter-trend because you’re fighting the dominant trend. Any profit is a win.
