Opening Remarks

We’ll update our chart. The notable thing is that the close aligns exactly with the overnight highs, placing both on the same line. That becomes our bull/bear line today—overnight high plus RTH close. This is a significant level.

Battle Plan and Missed Trade

Reviewing the battle plan from last night, I got this entry but managed it too tightly and missed the run. I anticipated a revisit to 6162 before a push higher. After a 20-point move up, I’d have put it on a trailer. This trade would have been a solid add-on, not an independent trade, and it was based on our strong levels.

Price Action Behavior Around Bull/Bear Line

Every time price returns to the bull/bear line, it presents a great long opportunity. It’s proven to be a strong level—almost like the “Teflon Don” of price zones. The long I previously mapped out didn’t happen due to timing at the overnight open. Still, smaller size with appropriate stops can make those worth the risk.

Discipline and Risk Management Reminder

Going into the weekend, be mindful not to give back your weekly profits. Don’t go from green to red—daily or weekly. Discipline, positive attitude, and preserving trader “mojo” are more valuable than pushing for more. A smaller daily loss limit is preferred. If you’re in a cash account, use lockout features. It’s about surviving the red days and maintaining control.

Live Trading Session and Entries

In the AM session, I took a short and set a trailer, capturing six points. The bull/bear line continued proving strong. The ideal short setup was just above the overnight high, where the reward-to-risk profile was excellent. Above that zone, I stopped considering shorts.

Managing Trades and Scaling

I updated my leverage metrics. I now scale trades, with the largest leverage on the first, when I’m most focused. The strategy allows four losses max, but each loss gets smaller.

Market Conditions and Trade Execution

Price dipped into the 9550 level again, which had been highly reactive. A small stop loss here made it a viable play, though I passed due to a magnet level below. The first six minutes closed down; I avoid that window. Took a short at 95, small size, and went hands-free. Got out when it didn’t work. Mapped it out and moved on.

News Awareness and No-Trade Zones

Consumer Confidence and Inflation Expectations were upcoming. During news, I avoid initiating new trades. We got expected volatility from PMI. Proper entries remain key—above bull/bear, longs are favored.

Trade Management and Execution

Waited for an ideal trade at 6162. Once reached, executed a long. Trailed positions properly and took profits incrementally. Kept financed runners to allow participation in a larger move. Entered at 55 and let the rest ride.

Battle Plan Execution and Outcomes

Trade unfolded exactly as outlined in the battle plan. Shorted at 96, exited at 72. Then went long at 55 and scaled out as price moved. Patient execution and trade mapping paid off, reinforcing the value of runners.

Afternoon Session Observations

Price reached targets. Battle plan validated. Stops were moved as price climbed. Runners paid well. No regrets about trailing stops—discipline and consistency were key.

Final Commentary

We finished strong. Four trades total. Maintained discipline throughout. Documented everything in the journal. Left one final runner going into the weekend. The morning trade plan was precise, and patience led to substantial rewards.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Q: What is the bull/bear line and why is it significant?
A: The bull/bear line, defined by the confluence of the overnight high and RTH close, helps establish a directional bias for the trading session.

Q: How do you manage trades with trailers and financed runners?
A: Once a trade is in profit, partial exits are taken to cover cost and risk, allowing remaining contracts—called financed runners—to stay on with no emotional baggage.

Q: When should you avoid trading during the session?
A: Avoid trading during major news events and the first six minutes of RTH open, as these periods often exhibit unpredictable volatility.
