A: The Bull Bear Strong Level is the line that tells you who is in control… Bulls or Bears. Above it, the Bulls have the edge. Below it, the Bears do. This week we closed UNDER it, so the burden is on price to reclaim it. Careful getting stubborn with longs below that line. If we reclaim it and ladder beyond, that becomes a delightful place to be long.
What is a Strong Level?
A: A Strong Level is a price where the market has reacted strongly before… a spot where buyers or sellers stepped in with force. These are the levels I map trades around because price tends to respect them again. When a Strong Level covers a small band instead of a single price, I call it a Strong Range. Hand draw these on your chart and watch how price behaves when it arrives.
What is the Expected Range?
A: The Expected Range is the move the options market is pricing in for the week. This week it runs from about 7,379 on the low end to about 7,615 on the high end… an implied move of roughly 118 points. I always hope we explore both ends of it, because that is where the amazing trading opportunities live. It is a guide for how far price may travel, nothing more.
What is short covering and why is it your favorite trade?
A: Short covering is what happens when traders who bet against the market are forced to buy back their positions… and that buying sends price ripping higher. The more we push down, the more violent the short covering can be when it finally snaps back. That explosive move up is my favorite trade of all. It rewards patience at the lows.
