ES & MES FUTURES TRADE PLAN #317
SUNDAY/MONDAY RTH SETUPS 🗓️ Posted: Sunday May 31, 2026
TODAY’S REVIEW: ES FUTURES
Best ES Trade Setup of the Week
This Battle Plan trade setup was just spectacular last week. Unfortunately, it happened around midnight in my time zone.
If you’re an international member or burning the midnight oil… this was your trade.
Every week we tend to get a Battle Plan trade that goes a hundred plus points. This one was close.
Of course, not every account type can hold overnight, but for those accounts who can, this was a fantastic trade.
Expected Range
90 points seems a little light for non-farm payroll.
Although a 90-point pullback puts me exactly where I am most interested in getting long.
And the sooner we get there, the more excited I will be.

Tip of the Day
Anthony de Mello, a Jesuit priest, said it bluntly… if you’re suffering and not willing to do anything about it, you need to suffer more. Suffer until you get sick of it.
Sounds harsh. It’s true.
Every real change in my trading life came when the pain of staying the same finally outweighed the pain of changing.
The bad trade you keep repeating. The position size you know is too big. The rule you keep bending. The setup you keep forcing.
You already know what needs to change.
The question is whether you’ve suffered enough yet to do it.
Change it THIS WEEK!

THE BATTLE PLAN: BEST ES/MES SETUPS
ES Broke Out to the North!
The Bulls reign supreme.
Bulls aren’t just “in control”… they’re dominating.
Non-farm payroll this week… things could get interesting!
I can’t chase long here, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we gap down tonight. Which would stink because getting short was my primary focus on Friday – although we mapped out trades both ways!
The truth is that most fantastic shorts are nearly impossible to catch.
You’ll grind through thirty-two break-evens and small losses… and still miss the big move.
Monster moves down are… typically… liquidation breaks… the bottom just falls out. Every trader dreams of catching that trade.
I couldn’t care less if I miss that entry… short covering is even sweeter.
Careful Knife Catching
If ES rolls over with a string of fifteen-plus point candles to the south, be careful.
The risk of a liquidation break seems really, really high to me.
One day this week, we will probably have a vomit day, and you will need to resist every temptation to knife catch and call a bottom.
Stay in back and look for Battle Plan trades below.
So if we start barreling down the chart… Stand down.

Battle Plan Notes
- Micro pullback long, taking the RTH low or the overnight low, recapturing the Strong Level. This is the best case scenario for bulls dominating.
- This is challenging the top of the range that we will discuss on the Monday AM Briefing. The loss and reclaim of this Strong Range, aka the top of the range, aka the Bull Bear Strong Level Strong Level, is a good long. Now this is a very tricky area because this coincides with the Battle Plan 3️⃣ Short.
- This is a very tricky area, but this is the top of the range. We know that if we drop into the top of the range, there’s a good likelihood that we rotate to the bottom of the range as drawn. Bulls still control in this scenario, so shorts are counter small if at all, never making things worse. If you get into this short, target the bottom of the range as outlined.
- This trade idea challenges the top of the established range we built last week — and reclaims it. Look to add to your winning trade if we respond with a vengeance at the Battle Plan locations above.
- Way Down Yonder: it is there just in case.
