Trading Preparation & Routine for Futures Day Traders
The work you do before the open decides the trades you take after it. This hub covers George’s entire preparation system… from Sunday chart prep to the final pre-flight check.

Preparation Is the Whole Job
Watch George trade live for a week and one thing jumps out. The trading looks boring. Price reaches a pre-mapped level, an alert fires, a planned order fills. All the real work happened hours or days earlier… and this hub teaches every piece of it.
George says it plainly: “Be in the preparation business, not the prediction business.” Nobody knows where the ES E-mini futures market goes tomorrow. You can still know, down to the tick, exactly where you’ll act when price arrives. That’s what preparation buys a futures day trader. Zero forecasting. Total readiness.
The system runs on a weekly rhythm. Sunday, George tunes up every timeframe and publishes the Sunday Strong Levels that anchor the week. Each evening he drafts the Battle Plan… numbered if-then setups with entries, targets, and failure cases mapped before the market opens. Each morning brings the routine: review overnight price action, scan the economic calendar for news drivers, mark the overnight high and low, run mental training, then complete the written Pre-Flight Checklist that earns you the right to trade at all. Some mornings the honest answer to “Should I be trading today?” comes back no. That answer counts as preparation too.
The named concepts live here. The Battle Plan and how to read its notes. The Pre-Flight Checklist. The Sunday Strong Levels routine. News Drivers and the red-folder calendar scan. “Map, wait, trade”… the discipline of executing only what you planned. Chart hygiene, the TradingView object tree, and the key levels worth marking before every session. Plus the philosophy underneath all of it: sharpen your axe, put in the butt time, and let methodical preparation produce the profit.
Why does it matter? Because every unprepared trader makes the same trade… the emotional one, decided in the moment, at the worst possible price. Preparation moves every decision to a calm hour when the market can’t pressure you. Start with the three lessons below and build the routine one layer at a time.
