The End of Day Chart Review
The daily homework that quietly builds your confidence in the system… while everyone else waits for someone to post the answers.
2022–2026
An end of day chart review is your daily homework after the close. You open the RTH session on a clean three-minute chart, draw your Strong Levels, and mark every trade the system produced that day. No cherry-picking. Then you compare your read to George’s. That’s the whole drill. It takes minutes, and it is where confidence in the system is born.
“Today’s tip of the day, do your end of the day chart every day. Do your end of the day chart every day. Why? It builds confidence in the system.”
This page pulls together everything George teaches about the end of day chart across years of live ES E-mini futures and MES micro futures sessions… why it works, how to do it fairly, what it fixes, and the honest warning about what happens the day you stop.
Where Your Confidence Actually Comes From
Ask a struggling trader what they lack. Almost always it’s conviction. They see a level and hesitate. They take the trade and bail early. The fix is proof, built by your own hand, one chart at a time.
“I cannot stress enough, this is where your confidence in our system is going to come from. Once you can learn to draw these lines yourself, I want you to start making end of the day charts every day.”
Notice the mechanism. You draw the lines. You watch them hold. You do it again tomorrow, and the next day, and you keep the charts. A library of them stacks up. Soon the doubt has nowhere to stand… “start building a library of them because it will build your confidence that hey, these lines are working” (Nov 15, 2022). This is the practical engine behind keeping a trading journal.
“This is where your confidence comes from… I’m not cherry picking any day at all. This works every day.”
And the payoff compounds. Once you have marked enough charts, patience gets easy, because you know the trades are coming… “it’s the confidence to know if I just wait, I’ll get them” (Nov 16, 2022). The chart proves opportunity is abundant, which kills the urge to force a bad trade.
Draw Every Trade, No Cherry-Picking
Here’s the rule that gives the exercise its power. You draw them all. Every single trade the system produced, winners and losers alike. Fudge it and you cheat only yourself.
“At the end of nearly every day I will go in and draw the lines based off a three minute chart… where were all of the trades based upon our system, not cherry picking every single trade.”
George holds himself to the same standard live. He judges the intraday action only, and he works to stay honest about it… “I try not to, I’m really trying to be as fair as I can” (Nov 16, 2022). He calls out the alternative from a previous group where results always looked massaged. Fair charts are the only charts worth keeping.
Do it long enough and something clicks. You stop second-guessing entries, because you’ve seen the system work across hundreds of sessions… “we’ve done end of the day charts long enough to know the success of our system. You should take them all without question” (May 30, 2025).
Will This Be on My End of Day Chart?
This is the named test the whole habit unlocks. In the heat of the session, when you’re staring at a level and can’t decide, ask one question: will this be on my end of day chart? If the answer is yes, the doubt is gone.
“Will this be on my end of the day chart? If it is, you can’t go too wrong.”
See how it works? The review you do after the close becomes a filter you carry into the next session. A valid Core Strategy level, a clean three-minute setup, the kind of trade that always ends up marked on the chart… that’s a trade you take. George trades it that way himself: “yesterday I took every 3 minute level purely out of the sheer discipline. And that’s a wonderful way to look at every entry” (May 30, 2025).
This is also how you test a trade you’re unsure about. Draw out your Core Strategy levels and see whether a clean setup actually exists before you pull the trigger… “when I look at Core Strategy and I literally draw out my levels, you show me a clean short” (Aug 7, 2025). If the levels say it’s there, it’s there.
How to Do the Review, Step by Step
The drill is simple, and it doubles as feedback on your own skill. You are grading two things at once: how the system did, and how well you marked it.
| Step | What you do | What it teaches |
|---|---|---|
| Open the RTH chart | Load a clean three-minute chart of the day’s RTH session. | Removes noise so real levels stand out. |
| Draw the levels | Mark every Strong Level and break level that bounced price. | Trains your eye to read where price turns. |
| Find every trade | Locate each trade the system produced that day, no cherry-picking. | Proves the setups are abundant and real. |
| Grade your marking | Ask how well your levels held. Would you have caught more trades? | Feedback on you as well as the market. |
That last step matters more than traders expect. The review is a mirror. It tells you whether you are marking levels well in the first place… “first thing I like to look at, the Strong Levels, and see how well did these levels do. It’s just feedback for me as well. Am I marking these things well?” (Sep 3, 2025).
“I want you to go in and mark break levels, every break level I want you to mark them… before you turn it in, look at it with a critical eye and say, would I have had more trades?”
When back-testing confuses you
Marking a whole day in hindsight can trick you. You see levels that only look obvious now. The cure is the replay tool… reveal one candle at a time and mark levels as they activate, exactly the way you would in real time.
“The easiest way to get rid of any confusion is you mark them one candle at a time on a replay model… in real time we’ll be deleting those levels as price keeps moving.”
A trick for a fresh set of eyes
If you mark long setups well but keep missing shorts, flip the chart. Press alt or option I to invert it, and the side you struggle with suddenly reads clean… “invert your chart, and then you can see it from the opposite side” (Apr 1, 2026). Same market, opposite view, and your blind spot disappears.
Leave Your Marks Up, and Do the Big Days
The habit does not end when you close the platform. Leave your levels and trade markings on the chart overnight. Then you wake up already oriented, reading whether price is bouncing your lines before the coffee is cold.
“If I made any trades last night I leave them marked, whatever lines were there I leave them there, so I can wake up in the morning and get an idea of, are we bouncing.”
Some sessions deserve extra attention. After a big trading day, review it closely… “whenever there’s a big day like this I love to do a review” (Oct 23, 2024). Yesterday, honestly, is often more instructional than today. George once posted seventeen lessons from a single prior session: “I believe yesterday is more instructional” (Mar 20, 2026).
Reviewing the recent past also confirms your read. Check whether the scenarios you drew in the morning actually played out. It’s a fast, honest scorecard on your forecasting… “did that happen yesterday, well, it looks like that happened nearly exactly” (Nov 30, 2024). Fold in yesterday’s news drivers and the AM Briefing to see if the plan held: “part of today’s review is listening to what was said on the AM Briefing first” (Jun 25, 2026).
Even without a membership you can review. Half the Battle Plan unlocks every night, and reading the recap of the day’s entries and exits is high-value study… “it’s highly educational to read or listen to the previous day review” (Jun 9, 2026). And the end of day chart is the ultimate context check. It tells you whether you are with the trend, counter-trend, or fighting a parabolic move: “am I with trend? Am I counter trend? Am I with a parabolic trend?” (Jul 1, 2026).
Stop Doing Them, and You Go Off the Rails
Here’s the warning George repeats most. When a trader spirals, the cause is almost never mysterious. He has one diagnostic question, and the answer is always the same.
“When they go off the rails, the first question I ask, have you been doing your end of the day charts? 100% of the time, the answer is no. The answer is no.”
The newer you are, the more this matters. Once you earn your first four boot camp badges, the end of day chart becomes the single most important thing you do… “the newer you are, the more important it is to do that end of the day chart” (Mar 19, 2025). And your charts should mirror the strategy’s documented long-term results over time. That’s the proof loop that keeps you honest, because a strategy means nothing if you can’t back it up with results.
There’s an upside George never leaves out either. This homework is genuinely fun once it clicks… “I started doing the end of the day charts and having so much fun with it. It is fun to finally see all the trades that exist on the chart” (May 18, 2025). Waiting for someone else to post your charts is the slow road. Do your own and your progress runs ten times faster.
“If you guys just finish the day and wait for me to post your end of the day charts, your progress is going to be 10 times slower than someone else doing their own end of the day charts.”
Pair the chart review with mental trading the setups you missed, and the whole practice becomes a training loop. Reps in, confidence out.
“Every time you review a trade that follow your rules, you’re hearing the truth of your edge again and again.”
