A price magnet is a level that attracts price rather than repels it. Point of control, virgin POCs, unfilled gaps, big round numbers, clustered session lows, the all-time high… these levels pull the ES E-mini futures market toward them. George uses them as targets and exits, almost never as entries. You trade to a magnet, then you get out when price arrives. The session’s VWAP line pulls the same way, and price loves to travel back to its average.

From the tape · Mar 4, 2026

“Let’s turn back on the VPOs and single prints. These act like magnets for price to pull to. It’s not a bounce level. It’s a magnet. So beautiful place to TP.”

This page gathers everything George teaches about magnet levels across hundreds of hours of live ES and MES micro futures trading… what makes a magnet, the seven kinds he watches, why the point of control is for exiting instead of entering, and how a magnet gives you the conviction to hold a runner all the way to target. Master this and you stop guessing where to take profit. You let the chart tell you where price wants to go.

01

A Magnet Attracts. It Does Not Bounce.

Start with the distinction that matters most. A Strong Level bounces price. A magnet pulls price in. George draws a magnet on the chart to mark where he believes the market is being dragged, then trades toward it. “Putting my magnet there, that’s where I expect price to go. That’s where I believe price is going to be attracted to go” (Apr 4, 2025).

Some levels only ever function as magnets. Trade against them and you fight the current. George is blunt about it… certain volume levels never act as balance areas where you would fade the move.

From the tape · Dec 9, 2024

“Remember, VX are not balance levels. They’re simply magnets.”

The pull works in both directions. A magnet overhead can hold price up all night, which becomes a reason to stay long. “I am long because we got some beautiful magnets above our head. They held price up all night” (Aug 8, 2025). And a magnet above the all-time high makes shorting almost impossible… “very difficult to want a short in front of an all-time high” (Apr 30, 2026). This connects straight to Strong Levels, but a magnet plays a different role than a level you defend.

The Seven Magnets George Watches

Not every line on the chart pulls. These do. Learn to spot them before the open and you already know where today’s trade wants to travel. Each one showed up again and again across George’s live ES futures sessions.

The magnet field, ranked by pull
MagnetWhat it isHow it pulls
All-time highThe highest price ever printed. The biggest magnet on the screen. Price is drawn to it and shorts in front of it are a losing fight.
POC / VPOCPoint of control, or an untested “virgin” POC.Pulls price back into value. A great exit, a poor entry.
Unfilled gapsRTH gaps and old event gaps left open.Price gravitates to fill them, often to the 50% line first.
Round numbers6800, 7200, 5150… the big even prices.Reliable pause or reaction. Not always a reversal.
Clustered lowsMultiple RTH or weekly lows stacked together.A magnet below and a line the bulls must defend.
Single prints / VPOsThin-volume nodes left in the profile.Price pulls to them, a natural take-profit zone.
Session highsPrior London high, untested RTH high.Old highs not tested in RTH get grabbed later.

The all-time high sits at the top for a reason. “Of course the target is the all-time high. How is that not the biggest magnet on the screen?” (June 24, 2025). Round numbers earn their place too. George treats 6800 as a real reference and warns it produces a reaction even when it fails to reverse… “the bigger numbers like that tend to at least have a pause. Doesn’t mean it turns around. Tends to have a reaction” (Apr 16, 2026).

From the tape · Feb 26, 2025

“On NQ the election gap from November has still not been filled… we filled it in ES but we did not fill it in NQ, and we got close enough that now that is in my field of vision.”

Stack two magnets together and the pull doubles. George calls it a double magnet… two significant levels sitting at the same price, each amplifying the other. “We have a beautiful double magnet up there at the London high and all-time high” (Jan 13, 2026). What makes it double? “It’s an all-time high and a London high. It makes it a double magnet because the all-time high was done in the overnight session” (Jan 18, 2026). When you see two magnets converge, that is the highest-conviction target on the board.

03

POC: A Place to Exit, Not to Enter

The point of control is where the most volume traded. It carries the strongest magnetism on the chart, and that is exactly why George rarely enters a trade there. When price already sits inside the POC, the pull is spent. You want to buy in the green area below and let the POC drag you back up to it.

From the tape · Jan 18, 2025

“We’re down here in the green area, I’m looking for a long to go back to POC because it acts like a magnet. When price is coming back into POC here, taking a long, why? Because the power of POC pulls it back in.”

Say it plain. “Rarely is POC a place of interest that you’d want to enter a trade. Good place you might want to exit a trade” (Dec 9, 2024). No trades around POC. Its magnetism makes it a target, and a target is where you take money off the table.

From the tape · Mar 4, 2026

“It’s not a bounce level. It’s a magnet. So beautiful place to TP.”

An untested POC earns a special mark. If the RTH session never trades back to a prior day’s point of control, George flags it as a virgin POC for tomorrow. “Monday’s POC becomes now a VPOC. So mark out Monday’s POC as a VPOC because the RTH session did not test it” (Apr 2, 2026). Those untested levels leave unfinished business, and unfinished business pulls price. As George puts it about the string of them he leaves behind… “they act as magnets for price. Good places to exit trades” (May 8, 2026).

One caution. The POC only looks like the middle of value. Sometimes it isn’t. “Visually the POC is the middle. Sometimes that is not true. So drawing out the profile sometimes can be very beneficial” (Mar 17, 2026). Draw the profile and you find the real happy place… the 7162 multi-day POC George expected price to settle into, “if price comes back in, you would expect this to become a happy place” (May 5, 2026). These value levels feed straight into the Battle Plan.

04

Trade to the Magnet, Then Get Out

Here is where the magnet earns its keep. It answers the hardest question in trading… where do I take profit? George maps a long from a level with the magnet as the target, then exits when price arrives. “We mapped out right in here as your long with the target up here to the magnet and the single prints, and that’s basically what happened” (Nov 25, 2025).

The best exit is usually the next Strong Level in the path. Odds of blasting through it are low, so bank there. Clear it and you gained a free protection layer.

From the tape · May 21, 2026

“Where is typically probably the best exit? Probably at the next strong level. The odds of it going through are not that great, but if it does, cool. Now you have a built-in protection layer.”

There is real craft in reading the pull. Ask where price is most likely to snap back against you, and park your take-profit there. “Where’s price going to bounce back into my face most likely? Well, most likely it’s going to bounce back into there if it gets there” (July 23, 2025). When a giant level looms ahead, bank just before it rather than betting it breaks. “Coming into last week’s high, the previous RTH all-time high… take some profit just before that level” (May 26, 2026).

Targets stack in a sequence too. George maps three destinations for a trending session:

  1. First destination: the overnight high.
  2. Second destination: getting over halfback of the prior day.
  3. Third destination: clearing the afternoon high.

Each one becomes a magnet in turn once the one below it falls (Feb 25, 2025). And when two setups compete, George favors the bigger measured move… “this would be a 39, 40 point move and this would be 60. I would prefer the 60 one” (Feb 5, 2026). This is the same discipline as See Money, Take Money: you trade toward a level and you honor it when price gets there.

05

Clustered Lows and Unfilled Gaps

Two of the strongest magnets form from repetition and from empty space. When session lows stack in a row, they mark a zone the market keeps revisiting. Three RTH lows lined up? That is a target.

From the tape · Nov 16, 2025

“Two RTH lows, three RTH lows here in a row. Oh my goodness, what a magnet for this week.”

Those same stacked lows double as a line of defense. When today’s low, Monday’s low, and Friday’s low sit together, that is the wall the bulls have to hold… “we do have today’s low, Monday’s low, Friday’s low, all here together” and “this would be the line of defense that the bulls need to defend” (July 15, 2025). A magnet below and a battle line, all in the same cluster.

Unfilled gaps work the opposite way. Empty space begs to be filled. A wide-open gap becomes a big magnet… “that is going to be a big magnet, right, 0975” (Feb 26, 2025). And price often runs to the halfway mark first. “We opened up, basically went up to the 50% of the gap fill and failed”, then closed right back at that midline (Mar 29, 2025). Watch the 50% line to see where the market is really trying to go.

Old highs left untested carry the same unfinished-business pull. George keeps a running note of prior-session RTH highs that never got tested during RTH, because they get grabbed later. “It took an old RTH high that had not been tested in the RTH session. That’s one reason I keep track of those” (Apr 15, 2026). Once it gets tested, he deletes it and moves on. The magnet is spent.

06

A Magnet Is a Probability, Not a Promise

The magnet is a powerful tool, and George is honest about its limits. Marking one hands traders the conviction to hold… that is its real gift. Yet it stays a probability for today. Tomorrow may tell a different story.

From the tape · Jun 29, 2026

“My traders love when I put a magnet. They’re like, ‘Okay, I gotta stay.’ Do we always make it? Of course not. I know enough to know this was the most probable location we were going to go if we lost the opening. That’s all. That may not be true tomorrow, though, dude. That was true today.”

That honesty is the point. A magnet is where price wants to go on today’s map. “That’s what these magnets are. This is where we’re expecting price to go” (June 4, 2026). It gives you a reason to stay in the trade instead of grabbing the first green tick. That conviction is exactly what lets you hold a runner all the way to target.

George uses these levels to build his plan every session. “Do you think we use those levels to help craft our Battle Plan trades? You bet” (May 5, 2026). Trading MES micro futures lets a small account practice this same skill with real money, mapping the magnet and trading to it long before scaling into full-size ES futures. Learn where price wants to go, and you stop chasing… you let it come to you, a core idea in No Level, No Trade.

From the tape · Jun 30, 2025

“I would just sit there and watch it vomit and vomit and vomit until I got that trade. I think that would be really, really sweet.”

Q

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a price magnet in trading?
A price magnet is a level that attracts price toward it rather than bouncing price away. In George’s ES futures work, magnets include the point of control, virgin POCs, unfilled gaps, big round numbers, clustered session lows, single prints, and the all-time high. You trade toward a magnet and use it as a target or exit, almost never as an entry.
Is the point of control a good place to enter a trade?
Rarely. The point of control carries strong magnetism, which makes it a good place to exit a trade but a poor place to enter one. George’s approach is to buy in the green area below and let the POC pull price back up to it, then take profit when it arrives. No trades around POC itself.
What is a virgin POC or VPOC?
A virgin POC is a prior day’s point of control that the current RTH session never traded back to. If the session does not test that POC, George marks it as a VPOC for the next day. Untested levels leave unfinished business, so they act as magnets and become good places to take profit later.
Do unfilled gaps get filled in ES futures?
Unfilled gaps, including RTH gaps and old event gaps, act as strong magnets that draw price toward them. Price often runs to the 50% fill of a gap first. Watching that midline shows where the market is trying to go, though a gap is a probability rather than a guarantee.
Do round numbers matter in futures trading?
Yes. Big round numbers like 6800, 7200, or 5150 act as reference points and magnets. They tend to produce at least a pause or a reaction as price approaches, even when they do not cause a full reversal, so they make sensible spots to watch for a take-profit or a speculative fade.
Where should I take profit on a futures trade?
Trade toward the nearest magnet in the path, then bank there. The next Strong Level is usually the best exit because odds of pushing through it are low. Take profit just before a giant level like an all-time high rather than betting it breaks, and ask where price is most likely to bounce back into your face.
